Welcome to 2019!  Did 2018 fly by to you?  It did to me!

With each new year it’s a good time to review the year we completed, cast a vision for the new year and develop a plan of action.  We will be doing this over the first quarter of 2019.  I hope you will participate!

I often refer to it as…

  • Completing the Old
  • Composing the New
  • Creating a Plan of Action

This month we will start with Step 1:  Completing the Old – a review of the previous year.  It’s more than just thinking on the good and bad while ringing in the new year.  It’s more than just being grateful it’s over and a new one is starting. 😉  Let’s face it.  Each year there is good and bad.  Highs and lows.  How did you fare in 2018?  Did you Respond more than React? Empower more than Enable?  Encourage more than Criticize? Walk in Faith more than Fear?

So I want you to take some time with this exercise.  Get a pen and paper and your favorite warm beverage.  Snuggle up someplace comfortable with your favorite blanket and really think (honestly) about the following:

  • In 2018, What Losses, Disappointments and Breakdowns did you have?
  • In 2018, What Wins, Success and Breakthroughs did you have?
  • Based on the list above, What Lessons did you learn?

This is only for you so be honest and don’t rush through it.  I know you will be surprised at what comes to you.  Once you have it all on paper, read it through carefully.  Take a break for a day or two and go back and review again.  Ask God to give you wisdom and insight.  Be grateful for each moment…even the bad ones because they led you to the lessons learned and will led to successes in the long run.

If you would like to talk about what you discover, feel free to reach out to me.  I would love to set up a time to chat!

Don’t miss next month’s blog.  We will dive into Step 2:  Composing the New!

Happy New Year!!!
