Is Your Life Balance Wheel Sloping too Steep to One Side?We all hear about work/life balance but what is it really?


Wikipedia explains it as “having enough time for work and enough time to have a life, thus the work life balance.”


I think that is a pretty simple explanation and one that we all assumed it would be.


But how do you accomplish that?


There are 8 main parts to your life and you need to make sure that you are fulfilled in all areas otherwise you need to adjust things so that you are.


These 8 parts are:


  • Friends/Family
  • Fitness/Health
  • Career
  • Finances
  • Personal and Spiritual Growth
  • Romance/Significant Other
  • Physical Environment/Home
  • Fun/Recreation


Think of each of these areas and rate them on a scale of 1-7 with 7 being completely satisfied and 1 being completely dissatisfied.  Print the attached life balance wheel and score yourself.


Now look at where you are at and decide what areas need improvement.


Come up with a game plan to improve those areas and make it fun.  You want to enjoy these things so make sure that the elements you are adding to each part consist of things that you enjoy doing or can’t wait to try out.
