So what skills would those be? The ones that make you more valuable. The less a company has to outsource the better because the more you are capable of doing, the more job security you will have.

And you don’t need to go back to college for a 4 year degree to accomplish this. There are plenty of ways you can go about gaining this knowledge that will fit into your schedule great and be a lot less time consuming and expensive to do.

Certifications – In almost every field there are certifications that you can do. These may be online courses, in person, or a combo of both. You usually have to do some sort of practical exam to get your certification but each program is different so you would need to familiarize yourself with the various options and decide what is a good fit for you.

Workshops – There are tons of workshops hosted each year. These don’t have to be in something you already know either. You can attend workshops on things you are interested in, things that can improve your self confidence, or ones that can enhance what you already know.

Reading – You can easily go to the library and check out new books all the time on topics that interest you. You can learn and from there if you want to further your knowledge you can look for a workshop or certification that goes into more depth.

No matter how you do it, there is always a way to expand your skill sets and one that will fit into your time and budget constraints. Learning is an ongoing task but one that can be quite enjoyable if you are doing it in a way that best serves you and is of interest to you. Happy Learning!
