Three Tips to Better Self CareYour everyday life can be exhausting sometimes can’t it?  I know I feel that way at times!

What I learned is that you need to be taking good care of yourself.  You know how on airplanes they tell you to put the oxygen mask on yourself before you help the person next to you?  Well, the same applies in your day to day life.  You need to take care of yourself in order to take care of those around you.

3 tips you can implement today are:

Stay hydrated – Water is essential to keeping your focus and keeping you healthy.  It helps to flush out toxins in your body and also keeps your skin glowing!

Get plenty of rest – I know you’ve heard it before but I am saying it again.  Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep.  I know sometimes we burn the midnight oil but I can tell you that when you are sleep deprived you run the risk of things going wrong…the wrong project going out, falling asleep behind the wheel, mood swings, and on.  Getting sleep and pushing forward in the morning is the better way to go.

Take “me” time – If you are constantly doing something for others and not taking time for yourself you need to stop that.  Take some time each day, whether it is 10 minutes or an hour and go do something you enjoy…read a good book or article, watch a TV show, take a walk, etc.

Just implementing these 3 tips is a good way to start on the path to better self care.  Don’t fall behind and keep doing what you are doing…start thinking of you and doing what is best for you and in turn you will be able to help more people and give more of you in ways that you weren’t previously.
