It’s finally spring again! The flowers and trees are blooming, the birds are singing and you have done the spring cleaning on your house.

Now it’s time to do a spring cleaning on your career. Here is a list of what you want to work on to “clean up” your career for a new, fresh outlook:

Update your resume – Your resume will get stale after a while. You have learned new skillsets over the past year, you have increased your responsibilities, you need to update that so you don’t forget about it when you are sending your resume out to new possible opportunities.

Update References – Check over who you have listed as a reference. You may want to add a new contact that would be a better reference for you.

Update your accomplishments and skills – you have had various trainings and learned new skills at your current job over the past year. Update your resume with this information so that prospective employers can see exactly what you know and how well you know it.

Identify new individuals/organizations to network with – It is always wise to expand your circle of contacts. Seek out some new organizations that would be a fit for you to network in and meet people that you can both help and that can help you. Build those relationships. Don’t focus on what they can do for you. Focus on how you can serve them and it will be returned to you as well.

I hope this has helped you and if you would like any help when you are working through these steps I would love to support you. Just reach out and let’s set up a time to chat!
